I am a psychotherapist, counsellor, and shamanic guide.
I qualified as a counsellor in 1996 and as a psychotherapist and group worker in 1998. I have since run a private psychotherapy and counselling practice in The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead, as well as being a facilitator on personal development programmes.
I trained to be a psychotherapist and group worker at The Institute of Psychosynthesis, London. Psychosynthesis is a mainstream psychology concerned with the impact of past experiences upon the present. At the same time, Psychosynthesis is a psychospiritual psychology, concerned with the future, what may be emerging in a person’s life, its purpose, meaning and values.
A psychospiritual psychology which looks at the future as well as the past has a close affinity with Shamanic practice, both being committed to the Care of Soul and the expansion of Soul. I have a long association with Shamanism, which was one of the modules early in my psychotherapy training, and my continued interest culminated in a practitioner training with Eagle’s Wing. As an experienced psychospiritual psychotherapist of long standing, the inclusion of Shamanic psychology in my psychotherapy practice is a natural extension of my work.
As well as being the author of ‘Soulfulness‘, I am the co-author of two books of folk tales, ‘Berkshire Folk Tales’ and ‘Lancashire Folk Tales’, a professional storyteller, and a member of Equity and the Society for Storytelling.
I am a member of the Thames Valley Counselling group of independent coaching, counselling, and psychotherapy practitioners.
